Halyard Makeover

The sheave on the starboard spinnaker crane was chewing into the halyard. It was marginal but serviceable. The spinnaker halyards, however, do double duty as topping lifts for the spinnaker poles.

Thinking that the poles were going to see a lot service in the next few days, I simply could not put a compromised line into service thinking what would happen if it parted.

So, up at 4am to makeup a new eye splice and add splice some cover onto the line where it chafes.

One less thing to worry about ..

In weather like today having a fellow partner would make the difference of the world.

Heavy weather conditions are great only when you have enough energy to enjoy it. I wish you the time of your life.
