Having dutifully signed on yesterday, PJ decided it was high time for a promotion. Reckoning that he served his time before the mast on the pulpit, he promoted himself from ordinary Jack Tar to midshipmen. He has taken a berth on the quarterdeck.

I discovered a decent size flying fish tangled in some line on deck. It was big enough for the frying pan or Salty, but I wondered what PJ would do with it. I offered it to him and he looked like he was ready to drill a hole in my hand with that beak. My courage waned and I tossed it overboard. PJ was off the pushpin in a blink and he and the fish hit the water at the same time.

PJ has his fish, I still have all my fingers.

That looks about right. When it’s hot out in the ocean, its foggy and wet on the Wet Coast. That means you’re on the right track, heading the right direction. Finally. Woohoo.
