Land Ho!!

Land Ho!!

Land Hoooooooo!!

The Falkland Islands slipped below the horizon more than 5 months ago. That was the last bit of land I saw. The last bit of civilization I saw, save for 1 smallish plastic container in the middle of the South Indian Ocean, was a cruise ship headed SW a week later.

This morning and right on cue, Rarotonga appeared dead ahead. I was unsure how I would feel, but on spying it, I reacted like generations upon generations of sailors have always reacted.

Unfettered, pure, endorphin pumping joy!

Land Ho indeed!
