Lazy Daze
There hasn’t been many days like today. I think the last time the asymmetrical was out on deck was the South Indian Ocean. The swell at the time was too much for it. Yesterday, I had the Zero out as we were still headed upwind but the lightish air and swell proved too much even for that sail.
Just before noon today with boat speeds closer to 3 than 4 and the wind from behind I needed to do something. The asymmetrical was pretty much the only option.
Conditions couldn’t be better for it. We’ve been gliding along at 6s all afternoon and I haven’t needed to do a thing. Positively hedonistic.
At some point I’ll have to get back to work but for now, I’m lazing about the place futzing with small jobs and cleaning in corners that haven’t been clean in months. There hasn’t been many, but this day seems to have come along at just the right time.
